Final Product
Product Proposal Introduction Paper
The first two things that come to my mind when I think
about engineering is robots and coding. Most people entering the engineering
field will start by learning one of these two things. These are the building
blocks of engineering. My name is Haashir Ali,
and I chose the field of software engineering. I chose this field because of my
love for coding, since youth I've always found enjoyment in coding. When
deciding on our final product, my groups wanted to build and code a robot. This
robot gives me an understanding of both mechanical and software engineering. I
get to not only construct a robot, but also code it as well. Since the
engineering major field is broad, I was unsure
about which specific major I should pick. Through this internship though, I
have a better understanding of which specific major I would choose in
engineering.
My internship final product will be a line follower robot. I will not only construct this robot, but also code it using software's like C++ and Arduino. The main focus of this final product is to teach me how to adapt to different coding languages, which lets me learn more things about the software side of the robot. While also giving me a hands-on experience with the making of the actual robot, which lets me learn more about the mechanical side of the robot. First, I must learn the fundamentals of how to code C++, since most of the code for this robot happens to be under C++. After that, I must find an effective chassis to use as the base of the robot. Then, I must code the motors to move simultaneously at a powerful speed. After I am done coding the motors, I must create a course for the robot to follow. Finally, I must code the sensor that the robot needs to recognize the line and follow it perfectly. With this, my line follower robot is complete and ready to be utilized. Completing this project will give me a better insight into the realm of mechanical engineering. While also giving me the opportunity to expand my software knowledge.
